Josh Blass, LMSW, CSAT
Josh Blass comes to the world of therapy through a somewhat circuitous route. He received his bachelors and his Rabbinic ordination from Yeshiva University and is in the process of completing a Masters in Jewish Philosophy from the Bernard Revel School of Jewish Studies. For almost twenty years Josh practiced as a synagogue Rabbi, first in the Albert Einstein School of Medicine and then for 15 years in Kehillas Beis Yehudah in Suffern, NY. Additionally, he has been working for over twenty years as Mashgiach Ruchani (Spiritual Guide) in Yeshiva University. These two decades of Rabbinic experience helped Josh to develop a deep sense of compassion for the complex journeys that man often travels and a genuine passion for being a part of the process that helps lead a person to a fuller, richer, and healthier life.
Josh decided to retire from community Rabbinate and to pursue his life long ambition of becoming a therapist. He went back to school for his MSW at Wurzweiler School of Social work and has also completed his CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist). Josh’s practice spans the full range of mental health concerns but his real passion lies in helping people navigate addiction and trauma. Through his supervision work with Ilana Rosen he has developed a real love for the IFS or Parts model and seeks to apply that approach when appropriate. Josh has a unique capacity to connect with his clients and feels blessed to be in this line of work.
Josh sees adult males beginning from their later teenage years.
